Providence’s newest community garden, at 485 Charles Street, will be ready and open to the public on Sat., May 13. The first phase of the garden’s construction was managed by the City, with help from Councilman Nicholas Narducci. Two events are scheduled to let people know about the garden and to prepare the garden beds for planting.
First, on Mon., May 8, there will be a general meeting at 6 pm to talk about upcoming events at the garden and how to sign up for one of the initial 20 beds (with many more available later on). The meeting will be held at the DaVinci Center, 470 Charles St., Providence.
On opening day, Sat., May 13, there will be a garden workday from 10 am to noon at the garden, 485 Charles St., Providence. Volunteers will be welcome to help fill raised beds and tidy up. We’ll provide free snacks and seeds! Questions about the garden? Contact andrew@southsideclt.org or call 401-273-9419 ext. 107.
