For the second consecutive year, WaterFire Providence and the Papitto Opportunity Connection (POC) are celebrating Rhode Island’s communities of color with a full lighting of WaterFire, beginning at sundown on Aug. 13. SCLT is one of 35 POC-funded organizations that will staff tables to provide information about their programs and, in our case, give away bags of locally grown fresh produce.

Along with featuring the largest WaterFire of the 2022 season, local musicians and singers will perform on stages and a food and artist market will open at 6 pm.

Papitto promises “an immersive cultural experience filled with exciting performance artists, locally renown musicians and singers representing Black, Hispanic, South Asian, Southeast Asian and Latino cultures.”
