Don’t miss the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s seventh annual Winter Conference on Sun., Mar. 8.
The all-day event will feature regional and national leaders, educators and practitioners of regenerative agriculture, speaking on topics such as tomato grafting, starting a farmers market, and managing insect pests and diseases without harming the environment.
SCLT staff will present several workshops, including Crop Planning and Marketing for Value-added Products, Plotting Small Urban Greenhouses for NRCS and Scaling Up! From Urban Backyards to Rural Farms with SCLT Growers.
Youth Education Director Raffini and Food System Intern Jailine Mendosa will talk about SCLT’s Youth Employment Program, specifically how skills-training and workforce development experiences prepares area youth for jobs in agriculture, food retail and marketing, and environmental advocacy and resilience.
