Garden leaders Kee Kue and Janet Caretti have always seen SCLT’s Charles Street community garden as place where neighbors can connect and grow together. On Friday, August 18, they are excited to open the garden’s gates and welcome a larger confluence of community to the fertile oasis they share with about two dozen other growers. Kee and Janet invite you to 485 Charles Street in Providence, 5:30-7:30pm, for our second Summer Nights in the Garden event of the season.

Visitors will be treated to garden tours, a cookout, and fun for all ages. While supplies last, we’ll be giving out free produce, locally grown by SCLT farmers. Be sure to bring your creativity and curiosity: the evening includes arts activities for kids, led by Tarshire Battle, SCLT’s Director of Special Projects, and an “ask the garden expert” table hosted by Andrew Cook, SCLT’s Director of Community Gardens Network. You’ll be able to fit in a game of corn hole, toast marshmallows by the fire pit, and get to know your neighbors, all in a beautiful garden setting.
