SCLT is managing 4 acres of farm fields and two, 2500 sq. ft. hoop houses at the Good Earth this year, subdividing and renting them to help farmers grow more food in the Providence region.

This farm is 8 miles from Providence and 1.6 miles from Urban Edge Farm, SCLT’s largest communal farming property. Farmers pay a $200 program fee to join the network, and then pay a la carte for additional services.

Features include irrigation system, electricity, retail outlet, communal equipment and tractors.

Lease costs:

irrigated field – $600 per acre per year

hoop houses – $1 per sq. ft. per year

greenhouse – $2 per sq. ft. per year
