Covid-19 brings changes to this year’s Urban Agriculture Kick-off

To keep SCLT members and staff safe, we’re making adjustments to this year’s Urban Agriculture Kick-off, beginning Saturday, April 4.

However, SCLT will continue to provide members organic compost beginning on that date. Details about self-serve pick-up locations, membership and other gardening information can be found here.

These are challenging times for all of us, but we are especially concerned about the local farmers, food retailers and restaurants we work with every day to help bring Rhode Islanders fresh, local, healthy produce. Farmers, especially, are having difficulty getting their perishable food to market.

FarmFresh RI is expanding its home delivery service for individuals, and keeping the Wintertime Market in Providence open (with several precautions in place to keep you safe). We know how important being able to find nutritious food is to staying healthy and will share more information about how to buy directly from local growers as we gather it.

Your membership and financial gifts are greatly appreciated as we advocate for local  farmers and a better infrastructure to connect them with customers. Please support us in this work now, if you can. Thank you!
