Discover what lives at City Farm! This spring, our first BioBlitz session turned up 223 observations across the three-quarter-acre farm, including DeKay’s Brownsnakes, Eastern Carpenter Bees, Spotted Lanternflies, Wild Asparagus, and a Lumpy Bracket fungus. Turns out there’s a lot going on at 168 West Clifford Street!
Two more sessions are coming up this summer and fall, and we’d love to have you join us. People of all ages are welcome to explore the farm as citizen scientists, alongside local naturalists, documenting the animals, plants, insects, and fungi that call this South Providence urban farm home. Every observation gets logged into iNaturalist and contributes to real biodiversity research. No experience necessary, and you don’t need to have attended the first session to join us for the next one.
Upcoming dates: July 26 | October 4 | 11am to 2pm | City Farm, 168 West Clifford Street, Providence | Free to attend | All are welcome!
