• FRIDAY Mar. 30th, 5pm: Athenaeum Salon Talk with Lucas Foglia. At the Providence Anthenaeum, 251 Benefit St.
Photographer Lucas Foglia returned in summer 2011 to photograph community gardens in collaboration with SCLT. Come view his portfolio of new garden images and learn how the photographs are being used to impact the community of people growing food in Providence.
April
• SATURDAY Apr. 21st, 11am-2pm: HUB Days (various locations in Providence’s Southside, West End, and Olneyville neighborhoods).
Compost and seed distribution for members of the Providence Community Growers Network, including a Beginning Growers Workshop.
May
• SATURDAY and SUNDAY, May 19th and 20th, 10am – 2pm: 20th Annual Rare & Unusual Plant Sale. At City Farm (at the corner of West Clifford and Dudley Streets)
In honor of the Plant Sale’s 20th year, City Farm will feature 20 favorite plants and perennials chosen by long‐term volunteers and friends of SCLT.
September
• Late Sept.: Open Garden Day Tour and Bike Ride. TBA.
Learn more about the diversity of community gardens in Providence on foot or on bike. Finish with a garden‐fresh harvest potluck afterwards and connect with fellow urban gardeners and neighbors!
November
• TBA: Harvesting Hope Event.
SCLT’s beloved Harvesting Hope event is back! In2012, Harvesting Hope will be an early evening, rather than early morning, event. Still featuring the inspiring stories and delicious fare that have made this our signature fundraising event.
