Alejandra became involved with SCLT while a student at the Met High School in 2014. As a City Farm intern she discovered her love for farming, plant life and meaningful work.

Since then, she’s collaborated with SCLT youth staff to build a production farm in South Providence, kept outdoor spaces in Providence vibrant and beautiful and helped enable people from other countries to continue their lives as farmers in this country.

Alejandra has seen people from different walks of life, old and young, form impactful relationships while doing something good for the community. She loves seeing children visiting City Farm get excited about having a worm in their hands, or see what a cucumber plant looks like as it produces its first stems and leaves.

After several growing seasons with SCLT, she has learned that the more generous you are with the Earth, it will be far more generous in return.
