This spring, SCLT was chosen to host two stipended service staff, known as Members, by the Massachusetts-based land conservation organization TerraCorps. TerraCorps was formed in 2008 based on the national AmeriCorps model. Members’ purpose is to help build the long-term capacity of each service site.
The program will run from August 2020 to July, 2021. As a TerraCorps member, you will be compensated with a living allowance, education award to be paid on completion of the program and additional AmeriCorps benefits. You will gain valuable experience in nonprofit work as well as new skills and resources to become the next generation of land conservation leaders.
The two positions include a Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator, who will help build networks of volunteers to support hands-on stewardship of community lands, and a Youth Education Coordinator, who will engage youth in service learning, experiential education, and inquiry-based science and nature learning projects. Descriptions and applications for each position can be found here.
