Thank you for your interest in supporting our work. SCLT is continually growing and any amount of time or reosurce you can give will make a huge impact! Whether you are an experienced educator, an expert graphic designer, or you're just looking to get your hands dirty, the Community Land Trust can use your support! Keep checking back for updates. Here are just a few ways you can get plugged in:
Outreach/Events: We're constantly out in at events, sharing the good news about our work and the importance of growing your own food. If you are enthusiastic about our mission, love talking to people and/or can help with teardown and set up, we would love you as a tabling or event volunteer. You can also help us reach as many people as possible by helping us put up posters/flyers at area businesses and community centers.
Community Garden build-outs: Help us provide spaces for growing food. We turn abandoned vacant lots into thriving community gardens but need as much help as we can get! Let us know if you are interested in helping build garden beds and levelling them out with soil. These are great opportunities to flex your muscles, get to know your community and learning more about the work SCLT is doing.
City Farm: City Farm needs dedicated and consistent volunteers! There are lots to do at the Farm and your hands WILL get dirty - but the work is worth it! We have the greatest need for volunteers in throughout the spring and summer weekdays between 8am-3pm. Tasks include prepping garden beds, preparing for the plant sale in the spring, putting the beds to rest in the fall...
Graphic/Web: If something more technical is your forte, we can always use any contribution of skills related to graphics, photography and web design.
Office, translation etc: If you have a knack for organizing and office work, or can translate food growing resources and materials (particularly in Spanish) we could definitely use you.
Both individuals and groups from schools, universities, community groups, and businesses are welcome to volunteer with us. Please fill out the form below to tell us more about yourself, and we will contact you as soon as we have an opportunity that fits your skills and interests. Contact Michelle at michelle@southsideclt.org if you have any questions.
